Our story didn't begin with a business plan, but with an observation. Having worked as a coach, an educator, and a leader of large fitness teams for over 25 years, our founder, Steve Harrison, witnessed the persistent friction between training providers and operators firsthand. Having seen the recruitment struggles and heard the valid complaints that newly qualified professionals often lacked the crucial soft skills and practical awareness to truly thrive...
He realised the answer was not to become a slightly better version of the old model. The answer was to create a new model entirely.
The founding idea was radical in its simplicity: Stop criticising the supply of talent and take control of creating it. This led to the development of the Hosted Academy framework—a system designed not to impose a rigid doctrine, but to provide the tools for operators to become the standard-bearers of quality education themselves. It was a framework born from years of experience, designed to solve a problem from the inside out.

Steve Harrison, a seasoned fitness leader with over two decades of experience, founded Active Global with a mission to empower the next generation of fitness professionals. As a former professional cyclist and world renowned educator, Steve brings a unique blend of athletic expertise and educational leadership to his role.
A pioneer in the fitness industry, Steve has helped shape boutique fitness concepts and industry standards. He's personally trained over 3,000 course graduates and led global teams with over 700 personal trainers, achieving award-winning innovations and industry-high results.
Steve leads a dedicated team of hand-picked expert tutors, providing exceptional educational experiences to our learners.
